So recently there's been a lot of change in and around my life, and I just wanted to talk about a few things, share some thoughts of mine and just in general update the world...
So I got a job, finally! It seemed to prove impossible in the last few months but hey I got there in the end! Admittedly, it's not really what I profess to be doing 2,3,4 years down the line, but it's all about stepping on those stones towards greatness and getting the experience! Who cares if it's not my ideal job at the moment?! I never expected to graduate from University with a ticket straight into writing for a magazine or getting the job I've always wanted. I knew it was gonna be hard straight outta Uni! It's a bit like when you let a puppy explore the world for the first time. It's strange and daunting for them and they have to get their bearings before they can grow into a fierce kinda dog. And that's exactly what it's like for me right now.
What does an English Literature graduate do with their spare time you may ask? Well a while back I applied to a freelance writing website in the hope of signing up to write articles for clients/ websites for a bit of money on the side, as well as the experience and enjoyment. Today, I got an email back from one website in particular stating that my CV looks positive and that I will be required to take tests before they accept me on board to write articles/proofread etc and this made me kinda excited. I understand I haven't actually been accepted yet but what have I really got to lose eh? It would really be a step in the right direction towards a writing career. Whilst working my new job that I'll be starting on Friday, I could for sure be freelance writing in the background, putting my name and my writing skills out into the big wide world. That for certain is an exciting but scary thought!
As I mentioned in a previous post, I want to post some designs etc on here, and recently I've been planning to use some material I have spare to make an item of clothing... I'm not 100 percent sure what it's even going to be as yet, but I'm excited to get drawing, designing and making! I will for sure post my designs and ideas as well as final outcome pictures on my blog so you lovely people can see how it's going/went.
But for now, thank for you sharing a moment with me and my thoughts!
